PRESTIGIOUS EVENTS
EXPORT ‘A’ SKINS GAME ‐ Nicklaus North was selected to host the 1997 Export ‘A’ Skins Game. The event hosted four of
golf’s greatest names ‐ Nick Faldo, Greg Norman, Fred Couples and Jack Nicklaus. It was a huge success, the highest rated
golf broadcast in Canadian TV history, and was also seen worldwide.
SHELL’S WONDERFUL WORLD OF GOLF ‐ In 1998 Nicklaus North was again chosen to host another spectacular televised
event, Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf. Playing for the purse, Fred Couples and Ernie Els played a round that will be one of
the most memorable in Shell’s exciting series of matches. The legendary Fred Couples winning with a near flawless round
of 66 and both players commenting on the beautiful location and superb course conditioning. Fred Couples was quoted as
saying: “Whistler—the greatest place I’ve been to play golf”.
TELUS SKINS GAME ‐ The TELUS Skins Game was held on July 4‐5, 2005 featuring Stephen Ames, John Daly, Vijay Singh, and
the legend himself, Jack Nicklaus. Ames took top prize with 8 skins valued at $150,000. Jack was a close second with 7 skins
and $120,000. John Daly walked away with 3 skins and $65,000 while Vijay Singh walked away empty handed. Nicklaus
North is proud to be the only repeat venue in the events’ 13 year history. “Nicklaus North is a fabulous course in a beautiful
